# Pause when the answer is a sales line.

A care offer can sound confident before it answers the basic questions. Read the claim slowly and ask what record supports it.

## A claim about permission

### Ask for the actual approval.

FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has given TB-500 no approval as of September 2026.

A group had asked FDA to let pharmacies use TB-500, then took that request back. That is not FDA approval.

Taking the request back does not make TB-500 meet the US rules for pharmacy ingredients. It still has no official quality standard for the ingredient, is not in an FDA-approved drug, and is not on the permitted ingredient list.

## A reassuring code or badge

### A product code is not a review.

An NDC number does not indicate approval of a product, according to FDA as of September 2026.

NDC is short for National Drug Code, which identifies a product in a drug directory.

FDA registration also does not approve a facility’s products or establish permission to market them.

A pharmacy may display an accreditation badge, meaning a private group checked how it makes medicines. This checks the process, not each batch, and is different from a state licence or FDA approval of a medicine.

## A research-only label

### Look at what the seller tells people to do.

In letters checked in September 2026, FDA said research-only wording did not change the drug status of products promoted for people to use.

Those letters are FDA’s allegations about the firms addressed, not court findings.

Ask why an offer described as medical care points to a product labelled for research. Ask what law allows it to be supplied as a medicine for people.

## A test sheet or healing promise

### Ask what the proof actually proves.

Purity describes how free a tested substance is from other material. FDA found that the TB-500 test sheets it examined left questions about harmful material from bacteria (a kind of germ) and clumps unanswered.

As of the September 2026 check, FDA had found no published human TB-500 study behind online healing claims.

A test of contents does not answer whether a treatment helps your concern.

If the answer stays vague, pause the decision and carry the open question into a medical visit.

## A shortcut through assessment

### A visit needs more than a treatment menu.

State medical boards have a group called the Federation of State Medical Boards; its May 2026 guidance says proper care needs more than choosing from a menu.

That guidance also says patients must have the chance to raise their own follow-up questions.

This is advice to state medical boards. The rules for a visit are set separately by each state.

The directory below lists state medical boards; use it to locate the board covering your physical location at visit time. Ask that board what its rules require.
